My freeform expressions evolve from cloth, needle, and thread – sometimes rope. When I was a child, I spent most summers at my grandparents’ home in Waco, Texas. Days were filled with the drone of my grandmother’s sewing machine pausing only in the evenings, when she'd crochet in front of “The Lawrence Welk Show”. After inheriting her sewing machine, I made a dress for my thirtieth birthday. It was the first time I sewed. I loved creating something out of a few yards of material. Since then, I've made costumes for performance artists, founded a children's clothing line, and created site-specific installations for numerous art shows.
